now, in the immortal words of mr. maxwell, we...scram

planes whose destinations aren't california terrify me. the man next to me started drinking at eleven and didn't step til we landed five hours later in philidelphia. maybe eight drinks? he got much nicer, but i was to busy misting over and staring out the window to have any desire to talk. philidelphia looks beautiful from the sky at night. we passed low over a shipyard that was incredible. a huge skeleton of a ship smiled up at me.

sat next to a russian woman at the gate who only spoke enough english to tell me she did not speak english.i could only remember how to say vodka, prostitute, my pidgin version of you have beautiful eyes, and privyet which i can't spell or define. so we did the sign language thing for awhile.

barges pass on the river outside manchester. it is good to be back at mom and dad's with the ivy and the squirrels. tomorrow: work all day at the darwin library and call new york so my registration is unblocked.

i am a bruise today. tender.
