the sweet tooth glints and i can feel it glinting. glinting sweetly in my mouth. the sharpest tooth that dreams of escaping. it shines in the dark and dreams of wide forests lit by the milky moon. it dreams of evergreens and endless running, cutting itself across the haunted landscapes. it dreams of the soft place in my chest where it can imbed itself. and the soft place aches, a lead spot, infected with it's own heaviness, and with its own poison. dream on, little tooth. wait for the right moment, then gnaw the rotten center.
hush little baby don't say a word, momma's gonna buy you
a little bird to mock you
to sit on your shoulder
and mimic your baby talk talk talk
to echo your lonesome cry
to taunt your moan
everything rendered ridiculous by repetition
nothing new under the sun except these lips, these hands, these hands over these lips, no sound escapes to imitate, but how will i breathe?
met a cat named chicago, we flirted in empty sunlit hallways. baby, you always come running back and scratching on my door. i can see you like the way that i walk and all the things that i do
and i love you with all my heart
