None of us fall too far from the tree. The seed dictates the sprout. Later, the draught has his say-- the thin years which attenuate desire. Fat years which feed it and dull the mind. Layer on, hard patina, no winds strip you away. Coat the leaf and the branch. Bronze the flower and preserve the curves of the bloom. Let winter freeze us, let the slow seasons rot away at the fallen off blossoms, let the trunk grow hard and sure in the winter sun. What we cannot help from learning by experience. For years after the flood we find Noah on the decks of his sand-locked vessel; keeping watch the horizon, waiting.
Pendant les années suivant la déluge on retrouve Noah au bord son vaisseau; guettant l'horizon, attendant.
