il ne faut rien dire

first, good news! in the form of a quote, taken directly from the ny times:

"We will pay for this one way or another. We will pay to reduce greenhouse gas emissions today, and we’ll have to take an economic hit of some kind. Or we will pay the price later in military terms. And that will involve human lives."
Gen. Anthony C. Zinni former head of the Central Command, on climate change

finally! it's about time we learned how to market the need for change. global warming, out. climate change as a security threat, in. fuck fuck fucking yes, i don't care how it gets done, just please get it done.

sometimes i sit down to write just because i feel like i need to, but lacking anything of substance to say. i walked to work this morning suppressing a smile. i have the impression that this is a very feminine thing that many women do, or maybe i only feel this way because this phenomena occurs exclusively during times when i am having very feminine thoughts. either way, i marched to work like a goon with my head tilted back on pacific, making sure everything was going okay with the rooflines.

work was wonderful. the musical saw association had their annual shindig right by the statue next to my kiosk, so i had a sweetly haunting soundtrack to my flower weaving exercises. the world's cutest nine year old girl followed me like a shadow all afternoon after growing bored with her grandparents. i gave her this enormous pink gerbera, yes, i treat children like rabid dogs i am trying to appease, is that wrong? anyway, i got this amazing baby tooth jack-o-lantern smile instead of rabies... i don't think i was ever that innocent. anyway, it was nice.

post work reading session at pergolesi, i think i spend too much time there, but until i have a garden to read in, it's my second home. some old man struck up conversation with me about alyosha, but couldn't make it stick. i didn't care how many times he'd read the book. if you want to discuss the first two hundred pages of any book with me, you've got to be packing something more interesting than, "i've read that book three times and it just keeps getting better." if you think it's so good, please honor it by a more appropriate comment. i love people, i swear.

i'm just bitter because, why can't people my age chat me up about dostoyevski?

also, i have a fat lump in my armpit, it hurts a lot. and is sensitive to touch. lymph node? cancer? bee sting? ingrown hair? you be the judge. it's stressing me out. i hate doctors. and i feel like anything this close to my heart is serious. but then, i'm a raging hypochondriac. does this mean i can't drink tonight? because i'd like a manhattan right now.

goony goon goon. capresi salad for dinner, it's all i ever feel like eating. and malted milk balls. picture of health, i swear.

oh, god, the blog was not supposed to be this intimate. and my internal monologue has a teenage maturity level. stop gawking, all of you, unless you think you're better. in the words of thumper, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

my life sounds so boring, but i'm actually not morbidly depressed today.
